Alastair Moock CD Release Party at 92Y Tribeca

Moock’s 2009 family music album “A Cow Says Moock” won a 2010 NAPPA Gold Award and a Parents’ Choice “Recommended” Award and was a Boston Children’s Music Favorite Album of the Year. Join him at 92Y Tribeca for an entertaining concert of folk tunes from his newest album.

Alastair Moock is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter from Boston. Since 1995, he has toured throughout the US and Europe and won top honors at many of the country’s most prestigious songwriting contests, including those at the Falcon Ridge, Sisters, and Great Waters folk festivals. In 2007 he was nominated for a Boston Music Award for Outstanding Singer/Songwriter of the Year. The Boston Globe calls him “One of the town’s best and most adventurous songwriters,” andThe Washington Post says, “Every song is a gem.”

Ascarium At The New York Aquarium


The year’s spookiest celebrations aren’t just at graveyards anymore — New York Aquarium is bringing Halloween under the sea with its three weekend-long Ascarium. Brave a haunted sunken ship, trick-or-treat for goodies, marvel at aquatic-themed magic tricks, listen to some hair-raising stories, and more. To learn more about this fun, safe day of live music and frightening festivities.

At the Aquarium’s annual Halloween celebration, meet all our sea monsters, and enjoy magic shows, live music, storytelling, and crafts activities. Don’t miss our special Halloween 4-D feature, The Curse of Skull Rock, showing in the theater outside the aquarium entrance. Collect treats at our treat stations, and venture into our Spooky Shipwreck!

Event Highlights

 Haunted Sea-fari

Explore our Spooky Shipwreck: Peer through portholes and navigate the dangers of the sea! Make your way through the haunted Captain’s Quarters and the Briny Brig, then walk the plank, face sharks, and enter the belly of the Octopus. While you explore, learn what you can do to help save the beach and oceans from pollution. Animal exhibits are woven into the adventure.

Thrilling Magic Shows
Kid-friendly, animal-themed magic shows will delight young visitors with illusions and tricks.

Enjoy kid-friendly, Halloween-themed tunes about animals of the sea. On October 15, Alastair Moock will entertain audiences with his award-winning children’s folk tunes and goofball lyrics. On October 16, 22, 23, 29 & 30, SweetBeatz will keep the place rocking with original tunes that celebrate the soul and sassiness of city kids.

The Curse of Skull Rock 4D

The Curse of Skull Rock 4-D Movie

Don’t miss our special Halloween feature, showing in the theater outside the Aquarium entrance. The Curse of Skull Rock is a swashbuckling animated adventure that pits plucky cabin girl Jill Hopkins against the tyrannical Captain Scabb in pursuit of the lost treasure of Skull Rock. This family-friendly 4-D adventure with special effects brings the on-screen action to life.
