Just Because its Bigger, Doesn’t Mean its Better

big not betterCredit repair companies are looked upon with a skeptical eye as many have been led to believe that credit repair is illegal and only time can repair your credit. This is not true and the Fair Credit Reporting Act gives you the right to challenge incorrect information in your credit reports. Why wouldn’t you challenge information in your credit reports that are reflecting negatively on your credit worthiness. There are many credit repair companies out there, but not all provide the same level of service.

Not too long ago, someone reached out to me with questions about credit repair. I was shocked to find out that he had signed up with a large, and very well-known repair company, over a month had passed yet he had not heard a thing from them. Our turnaround time is less than a week, and we get started immediately on your analysis and disputes. The credit repair process takes time when done legally; hence, the faster you begin the process, the quicker the results.

Also, credit repair is not only disputing negative items in your credit reports, establishing good credit at the same time is essential for the process to work. Knowing when and how to establish new and good credit history is something Martinez Consulting Services teaches, as well as other credit habits that should be implemented in order to achieve financial goals and independence. Learning how to use credit correctly will help raise your scores and credit worthiness in the eyes of creditors and lenders, placing you in a position where you can purchase your dream home, dream car, send your kids to the college of their choice or take that dream vacation without leaving you destitute. The possibilities are endless if you take control of your credit and finances today. Will the Kingsbridge National Ice Center be Good for the Bronx?

knicFor years, there has been much debate on what should be done at the Kingsbridge Armory, which has been vacant for many years. A while back, it was decided that the armory will become the first indoor This seems like a great idea, but will this center be affordable for the  people of the Bronx? We already have an ice skating rink, recently opened in Van Courtlandt Park and the prices are very reasonable.

Today, work came out that Mark Messier will be the CEO of the Kingsbridge National Ice Center and all I can think about is how I am not going to be able to afford to take my kids there. The center is not expected to open until 2017 and by that time its going to be more expensive than the alternatives we have in the other boroughs. From the looks of it, I will not be using the facilities as its out of my budget. Do you think you will be going to the Kingsbridge National Ice Center, or will you stick to the skating rinks we know you can afford?

WOW……Outstanding Solo Performance

forgve fatherAs  I was looking for things to read online, I came across a small announcement about Latino actors receiving recognition for their artistic work. I began reading the list, I was shocked by one name. Jose Roldan Jr. Imagine my surprise to see that my prom king is getting an award for his outstanding solo performance in Father Forgive Me For I have Sinned from the Hispanic Organization of Latino Actors. I have yet to see his show because I still have no roof on my house since the hurricane and I want to fix my house, but it makes me proud to know my fellow high school classmates are making it big in their careers. Of course the biggest act to come out of our high school has been Aventura (so nasty…lol), but Jose is making a huge name for himself and I cant’ wait for his new projects soon to come.

jrjIf you would like to catch his performance, there is one scheduled for November at Lehman College in the Bronx. With this new award, tickets are bound to sell out quickly, so make sure you make your reservations today before it’s too late.

FREE Summer Movies in the Bronx

BTM_RooftopFilms New

It gets very hot in the Bronx, and sometimes doing things during the day in the sweltering sun is exhausting. Very few events for kids are available at sundown when the heat is usually subsiding, so I was excited to know the Bronx Terminal Market will be having 3 free movie screenings outdoors this summer. Kids can get a sense of what an old style drive-in movie is, just bring snacks and a blanket. Head up to the Bronx Terminal Market’s Level 6 garage roof deck at around 7:30pm for pre-movie activities. The movies will start at about 8:30pm.

Rooftop Films at Bronx Terminal Market
July 16: Despicable Me
July 23: Wreck-It Ralph
July 30: The Goonies

Castle Hill Little League Parade This Saturday

castlehill

The Castle Hill Little League is a staple of the the Bronx as it has been around for many decades helping keep kids off the streets. This year they will be having their parade this Saturday, April 27 and it will be a very special occasion as it will be held in honor of the Sandy Hook Victims.

This year’s parade has special relevance, not only for him but for the entire community, as it’s dedicated to the memory of the victims of Sandy Hook. The parade, which includes 800 people and seven marching bands, will feature a special poster designed to commemorate the victims of Sandy Hook and feature all of their names. Other special surprises are set to take place during the parade, which heads down a 45-minute route to the main field where Castle Hill Little League president Henry Pelayo, local politicians and other special guests will speak in a 30-minute ceremony.

Parade begins at 9am on corner of Lafayette & Castle Hill Avenue Ceremony follows at 10:45am at 1160 Zerega Avenue (btw. Gleason and Powell Avenue)

I’m MIA Today

Wondering why I’ve been quiet today. Well it’s because….20130111-165229.jpg

Cuca is a Girl????

20130108-141224.jpg
About 2 years ago, my father found a pigeon injured on the sidewalk. We are always bringing in stray any things, from cats to even squirrels. My daughters named the pigeon Cuca and an “avian expert” said it was a make pigeon. We never expected for Cuca to last long and honestly we assumed “he” would fly away once “he” was healed.
20130108-142318.jpg
It’s been over 2 years now, and Cuca is still with us. It’s free to fly away when it pleases but the love it gets here is incredible from everyone who comes into contact with it.
20130108-142519.jpg
Today, when my father goes to clean its “bedroom”, lo and behold an egg was found. My father found one yesterday, but thought it was a joke being played by one of his friends, so he discarded the egg and continued with his fatherly duties with Cuca. I haven’t told the girls yet, but we are getting ready to go get a nest for Cuca and her young.

Have you ever had a pet where the sex was wrongly identified? Have you ever found an unexpected present from your pets? I have no idea how long until the egg hatches and whether she will be laying more eggs. This is going to be an awesome learning experience for the girls and me.
