Lady, Its Your Fault He’s Fat

FAT MAURY KIDI was watching The Maury Show yesterday, and to my surprise it was not a paternity episode. It was  on overweight babies and the ordeals the moms go through to satisfy their kids insatiable appetites. These kids weigh over 100 lbs. and they are all less than 4 years old!!! How do you let your child get like that and where are the doctors that check these kids? When I go to the well-care visits for my girls, there is always a nutritionist that keeps a record of my kids’ weight and development. When my youngest was a little under weight because of the flu, I still had to visit the nutritionist until her weight was back on track.  I don’t understand how a parent does not take a more active role in their kids eating habits. One woman complained that it hurts her to hear people make comments that her child is overweight. Well you know what lady, its your damn fault so don’t get mad when others make comments.

As a parent, its your responsibility to look out for your child’s welfare. Don’t get mad when others make a comment you do not like because it’s about your child. People are not mean, they are just pointing out a fact that you do not want to accept. Yes it hurts if someone says something about your child but you are the parent. You should-be been in charge of the situation in the first place. Maybe you hearing the fat comments and jokes will motivate you to do what has to be done to save your child from avoidable diseases and illnesses. Many kids in this country suffer from obesity that can be avoided if the parent would actually parent. Kids have to many options and many parents are quick to give these options without setting limits.

IMG_2400My girls know better than to throw a tantrum over food. It’s a general rule in my home that you eat what is being served and everything on the plate must be eaten. If you refuse to eat what is being served then you simply do not eat and get ready for bed. I’ve heard of homes where 2 and even 3 different meals are made to satisfy everyone in the home. Do you know how much money you end up spending on your food budget if you continue this practice? A missed meal will not harm your child and you will start to take control over your child’s eating habits. If your child sneaks food from the refrigerator, then put a lock on it and all the cabinets if necessary. Snacks are earned in my home and that is after keeping their room clean all week, good grades on the tests administered said week at school and good overall behavior at home. TV and video game time also has to be earned but they must attend all their karate classes throughout the week.

Some might say I’m too strict with my girls but it’s because I want them to excel at everything they do and lead healthy, productive lives in the future. They have everything they can possibly want and more, but at the same time appreciate it and value the hard work it took me to get it for them. I love my girls and I will do everything in my power to keep them safe, even from themselves.

One or Three Months of Unlimited Kids’ Martial-Arts Classes at Pouncing Tigers (76% Off)

Martial arts teach children mental discipline as well as physical attacks, so that they only use their new skills on math textbooks that refuse to give them the answers. Train body and mind with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $39 for one month of unlimited martial-arts classes for kids, including a uniform (a $165 value)
  • $99 for three months of unlimited martial-arts classes for kids, including a uniform (a $415 value)

Instructors lead 45-minute, fun-filled classes for up to 15 students aged 3–18. Classes incorporate lessons in listening and responding, discipline and self-control, and respect, as well as increasing flexibility, coordination, and strength. Students also receive a traditional uniform at the beginning of class, with their belt ceremoniously presented to them at the end of their first class. See the schedule for class times and locations.

Pouncing Tigers

Ken Gibson began training in martial arts 20 years ago and has practiced hapkido, russian sambo, brazilian jujitsu, and escrima, to name a few styles. He thought he was prepared for any martial-arts challenge, but he describes his first attempt to teach the tradition to children as “shocking” because of how difficult it was. But he stuck with it and learned that engaging his youthful students was as much about entertaining as educating them. He grew to love the challenge of taking on young students, and eventually he opened the Pouncing Tigers school as a way to impart lessons of fitness, discipline, and self-confidence to children full time.

In his classes, he draws from techniques of longtime trainer Bill Schettino’s estacada and farang mu sul, an art adapted from the fighting style of ancient Korean special forces known as the Farang Knights and the Sulsa Warriors. Regardless of the physical techniques he covers, he always emphasizes the values of self-control, indomitable spirit, and respect, which can be demonstrated by swiftly kicking doors open for your elders.

ADVENTURES IN POTTY TRAINING

First week of school went off without a hitch. Kailey is happy with her 2nd grade teacher and her best friend is her buddy partner this year.  I got teary eyed when I heard this as they have been friends since pre-school. I was reminiscing back to my days at CS6 when my best friend, Michelle, was my partner for many years until she moved down to Florida. Then reality sank in when my youngest chimes in, asking why she doesn’t go to school like Kailey. I told her she wasn’t ready yet, although she already knows her colors and can count to 10, mind you she is only 2 years old.

Academically she is doing great and picks up everything I teach her. No, her issues is potty training. She was doing great up until 3 months ago, around the time their father left the household. She would go to the bathroom everyday and I had even stopped purchasing training pants. I tried to shelter my girls from the break up but no matter what you do they know and it will affect them.

My chunky monkey will only use the potty if she has a training pant on…WTF…and when she does have underwear on, she’ll just pee on herself, take off the wet panties and puts them away in the drawers. I hope she doesn’t keep this up because I’m getting tired of washing the entire pantie drawer. It’s already been twice this week…….
