Will the Kingsbridge National Ice Center be Good for the Bronx?

knicFor years, there has been much debate on what should be done at the Kingsbridge Armory, which has been vacant for many years. A while back, it was decided that the armory will become the first indoor This seems like a great idea, but will this center be affordable for theĀ  people of the Bronx? We already have an ice skating rink, recently opened in Van Courtlandt Park and the prices are very reasonable.

Today, work came out that Mark Messier will be the CEO of the Kingsbridge National Ice Center and all I can think about is how I am not going to be able to afford to take my kids there. The center is not expected to open until 2017 and by that time its going to be more expensive than the alternatives we have in the other boroughs. From the looks of it, I will not be using the facilities as its out of my budget. Do you think you will be going to the Kingsbridge National Ice Center, or will you stick to the skating rinks we know you can afford?
