Another Snow Day in NYC

I love the snow, but this frigidly cold winter is enough already. Spring where are you???

New Coupon for Velveeta Cheesy Casseroles

VELVEETASign in to your Kraft First Tastes accounts and print this new coupon for $1.50/1 Velveeta Cheesy Casseroles. This is a new product and it might not be available in all areas yet, but the coupon prints with an April 10, 2013 expiration date giving you enough time to find them. They come in three varieties: Chicken Pot Pie, Chili Cornbread or Shepherd’s Pie. I printed my two (2) coupons and will be heading out soon to see if I can find them in this area. I’m hoping I will find them and at a good price, but honestly I am not holding my breath. Its no wonder the South Bronx has one of the highest rates of poverty, and these prices in this area are killers.

Don’t forget to enter the Wealth of Health Giveaways which has lots of prizes available for many winners. Enter both forms here and here.

5 or 10 Classes at South Bronx Yoga ($200 Value)

Unlike most sports, yoga doesn’t rely on competition to motivate athletes, instead promoting goals such as improving technique and appearing on a box of Chakra Crunchies cereal. Find your inner gold medal with this Groupon.

Choose from 2 Options

$19 for 5 Yoga Classes (a $50 value)
$35 for 10 Yoga Classes (a $100 value)

Vinyasa-inspired classes incorporate three minutes of breathing and a dynamic series of stretches linked by flowing transitions.

South Bronx Yoga

At South Bronx Yoga, founder Amy Moran nurtures a noncompetitive community where budding stretchers find the support they need to begin, and seasoned practitioners can continue to grow and develop their practice. Amy’s yogic curriculum focuses on Vinyasa-style yoga, and students begin each session with three minutes of silent meditation and three minutes of mindful breathing exercises to focus minds and bodies on the athletic task ahead. Instructors lead classes through roughly 55 minutes of dynamically twisting and arching poses, seamlessly alternating between standing, seated, and inverted positions, much like games of musical chairs on the International Space Station. Throughout each class, instructors recommend modified stretches for attendees, allowing them to increase or decrease the difficulty of their practice.

¡Jayuya Vive, La Lucha Sigue! Jayuya Lives, the Struggle Continues

Join The ProLibertad Freedom Campaign, El Partido Nacionalista de Puerto Rico-Junta de Nueva York and Muevete Youth Conference as we celebrate the 61st anniversary of this revolutionary revolt!

On October 30th, 1950, Blanca Canales led a group of Puerto Rican Nationalists into the town of Jayuya, Puerto Rico and attacked federal installations; battled local police; and raised the flag of Puerto Rico (which was illegal to own in those days) over the town. She read a proclamation officially declaring the independence of Puerto Rico from the United States. It was a moment reminiscent of the Grito de Lares of 1868, when Puerto Ricans rose up against Spanish rule and declared independence.

It’s time we rose up in the South Bronx and brought the spirit of Jayuya back to our community!
