What to Expect in October

HOLIDAYS: Columbus Day, National Children’s Day, World Food Day/UN and UNICEF, Halloween, Daylight Savings Time ends

Fall is in the air and the Halloween season is in full swing. Right now you can find Halloween promotions on candy, cookies, baking chocolate chips and fruitcake/candied fruit nuts. Also baking season begins and all baking needs will be on sale.

Fall promotions have started on apples and fresh pumpkins. You can check out this list of farms you can visit near the city.

Sales have already started on pet products and pet food for National Animal Safety and Protection Month.

In preparation for the winter months to come car care products will go on sale and promotions on car winterization packages will also begin.

Daylight Savings time normally ends this month, but will be ending on November 6. Nevertheless, the promotions will be held this month and you will be finding sale prices on batteries, smoke alarms, safety equipment and alarm clocks.

September is here and the Back to School season is in full swing. Expect the Back to School sales to continue through Labor Day. By the second week of September, stores will start to put on clearance all the leftovers including UNIFORMS. Stock up for during the year and maybe get a head start on the basics for next year, like backpacks on clearance for more than 60% off.

Any type of lunchbox foods will be on sale like pudding cups, Lunchables, juice boxes, Capri Sun, Pop Tarts, lunch meats, bread, cold cereal, and waffles.

Tomato season is over and you can see a rise in sales for tomato products like spaghetti sauce, tomato soup, canned tomatoes and tomato sauce.

The baby items most likely to be on sale are major baby equipment, baby safety, and expect these around mid-month.

It is also Organic Harvest Month, expect to see organic fruits and vegetables go on special sales throughout the month.

The clearance items to stock up on are summer holiday and picnic supplies. The usually go on clearance after Labor Day, look for 75% off BBQ and picnic supplies.
